Denim on Denim

One of my favorite trends of all time is denim on denim. Pulling it off can sometimes be tricky, but it looks effortlessly awesome when done right. I asked a few of my friends to help me break down how to do this trend the right way, here's what they gave me:
Adrienne wearing lots of denim while shopping in Hawaii.

Natalie in wearing jeans and a denim shirt for a casual day at work.

Toshiko putting her usual funky flare into a denim on denim look.

What makes each of these denim on denim outfits doable is their casual nature and the fact that the denim is mis-matched. Here is what to avoid:
Denim is a casual material, don't try to dress it up. 
Stick to just a couple pieces that do not match.
Add accessories that contrast to the denim. 

Lastly, this is my take on the denim on denim trend:
My outfit:
Jacket: Gap
Top: UNIF 
Jeans: James Jeans
Shoes: Sam Edelman
Turban headband: Forever 21
Sunglasses: Von Zipper

    this is so great!! this is definitely one of my favorite trends as well. Although id have to disagree about britney and justin. I like their look almost as much as the padded corset at work. ;) lol.
