Day-Offin'

It is already Thursday! Time really does fly. Tonight I will be helping out at a Nordstrom fashion show, and I am really excited about it. I will be running around, so I doubt I will look too cute, but I wanted to share another day-off look with you. I am in love with the floral blazer and cut-out romper I recently got from Asos. They are both unique, chic, and really comfortable. I know the romper will be a go-to piece for me this summer on my days off. The blazer is simply functional, but the print really makes it pop. I have probably already worn it 100 different ways. Again, I am experimenting more with statement necklaces. I am also trying to work more sunnies into my accessories.

What is your go-to day off look?

Mista Dobalina

Its been so long, I almost feel as though I need to re-introduce myself. My internship with Nordstrom has been insanely busy, not to mention my graduation from UCSC (woo Slugs!!), and everything  else that has been going on in my life. I am simply thankful for the time I do have to blog, even though it is not nearly as much as I used to.

This look is my typical day-off outfit. I'm sure its no surprise that I am wearing black from head to toe. I use a black color palette as a way for me to do a wild mix of prints, without coming off too crazy, or like I'm trying too hard. I am really loving 90s aesthetic right now, which is why I chose to mix a cropped striped turtleneck tank with leggings. Jewelry-wise I've been experimenting much more with statement necklaces, although I always manage to move back towards long layering pieces. Nonetheless, I've enjoyed venturing into new jewelry territory.

Lastly, I wanted to take this opportunity to discuss my internship with Nordstrom a little further. Many readers have expressed that they want to hear more about my job (ahem, Jenna H. from Under The Fluorescents), and I think its great. While I was in college, which was literally just a week ago now, people would constantly ask me "What are you doing after school is over?". With all the uncertainty in the current job-market, and the rising level of student debt, I was really nervous about my career-path once I graduated. Thankfully, one of my mother's clients informed me about the Nordstrom retail internship program. Essentially interns are paired up with department managers at various Nordstrom stores. Not only do interns get to sell in a department, but we also work directly with management, and do leadership training. Going through this program ensures that internship graduates are on a faster-track towards their career goals, whatever  they may be within the company.

Basically what I am trying to say is that if you are a junior or senior in college, and interested in a career in fashion, head to Nordstrom and research how you can become part of next summer's internship!

Daisies

You know those times you randomly walk into Forever 21, not planning to buy anything, and you happen to find a bunch of really cute stuff? That happened for me last week when Adrienne and I went on an impromptu shopping trip. It is honestly rare that I even walk out of Forever with anything, let alone 3 new tops and a necklace. This top was the first thing I found on our trip, and I was instantly obsessed. I love the color and the little flower details. It reminds me a lot of Marc Jacobs, especially his Daisy perfume. This look is undoubtedly inspired by Marc and his lovely fragrance.

What is your favorite Forever 21 find?

Tuesday Shoesday

Cuffed Exotic, Jeffrey Campbell, $190

I am seriously hyperventilating right now. The croc embossed leather is so lush, and I love how it is in navy instead of in my all-black comfort zone. I might have to make these a graduation present...to myself, duh!

Missing You

I cannot believe it has been an entire week! I recently started an internship with Nordstrom, and I am still in the process of finishing school. Needless to say life is really busy at the moment. Here are some pictures I snapped the other  day after work. I am seriously obsessed with my new orange lipstick from Lime Crime. Other than that, there's nothing new here, just old pieces restyled in new ways. I hope you enjoy this look, and are having a good end to your weekend!

OMG...Its June!

Its June already, and I can't believe it! I know its the time of year to wear lots of brights and pastels, but I am not one to take trends too literally. While I love pops of color, I much prefer wearing black at all times. This get up is no exception. I am so obsessed with the polka dotted maxi skirt I just got at Forever 21. The off-centered slit in the front makes it so that I can still work it, without looking like I am drowning in fabric. Aside from that I opted to play more with texture and print. My sheer top and "Asian" printed cardi really add an element of depth on top, and the bag also adds another texture into the mix.
